BBF is 8 bits wide, located at 223Fh on the SA-1. It is initialized to zero.
Only the most significant bit, SEL42, is used:
- When SEL42 is clear, it indicates 16 color mode (4bpp)
- When SEL42 is set, it indicates 4 color mode (2bpp)
