A custom block, in Super Mario World ROM hacking, is a piece of custom code that is associated with a particular Map16 tile that gives that tile special behavior. Custom blocks are a kind of ASM hack.
Custom blocks are typically inserted into a SMW ROM using a program such as blocktool or Blocktool Super Deluxe.
